The 3D Data Visualizer Pro quickly creates great 3D line and surface plots.
... because it's always better to see the data.

  • Choose your input data file (human readable ascii text data)
  • Choose your delimiter type(s).
  • Choose from mesh (surface), line (x,y,z), multi-line, scatter (x,y,z), and area plots
  • Choose colors, lighting, and rotation
Key features of the 3D Data Visualizer Pro include ...
  • New in 1.0.6 - Animated Data Sets
We now support time varying data! Specify a column in the data set as the frame count column, and the desired frames per second, and you'll have an animated plot. Integrate the animation into your presentations by creating a Quicktime movie. Use the frame controls to quickly get to any desired frame in the sequence. Display or hide the frame number as desired.

  • New in 1.0.5 - User Definable Color Maps
With user definable color maps, there's even more control over height based color. User defineable color maps define exact color values, to precisely specify the color progression. Color maps are simply comma separated ASCII tables. The first column defines the red component (of the specified color). The second column defines the green component, and the third column defines the blue. Several sample color maps are included with the 3D Data Visualizer Pro including heat, cold, xray, and fluid. A color map inspector is provided which shows all the colors in the color map, as well as a graph of the red, green, and blue components.

  • New in 1.0.4 - Texture Maps
Now, when specifying the colors for a surface/mesh plot, or the reference z-plane, you can specify an image file for use as a texture map. The image is applied to the surface of the plot (or to the reference z-plane). There are several sample textures supplied (including 3 types of marble, brick, stone, road, cobblestone, wood, etc.)

  • New in 1.0.4 - Color Based on Height
Surface/mesh, and scatter plots can now have their z position be the basis of color. The color may be based on the absolute (user specified) Z locations (for min and maximum color), or a relative location. Relative locations include the displayed z axis limits (for max and min color) as well as the data's inherent maximum and minimum values. There are several color schemes to choose from including saturated hues, reverse hues, and black to white and white to black schemes. There is also a custom color scheme where you specify starting and ending colors.

  • New in 1.0.4 - Specular and Shininess Controls
When specifying an opaque color for a surface plot, there is now direct control over specular and shininess parameters.

  • Print, Export Images, and PDF's of your charts
Click on the manual rotation button to select a rotation, and export a TIFF image of your data, or generate a PDF. You can then import this file into Word, PowerPoint or Keynote, to display your 3D graph.

  • QuickTime movie export
Click on the Export QuickTime Movie button. Choose a filename and location to store your QuickTime movie. 3D Data Visualizer Pro will export an animated sequence of a full rotation to this file. You can then import this file into Powerpoint or Keynote to make your presentations come alive!

  • Interactive Color Specifications
Click the graph colorwell to display a color picker for your 3D surface. Adjust the colors in the color picker, and instantly see the resulting image (including lighting and rotation effects). Quickly go through hundreds of different combinations to find the effect you want. The 3D Data Visualizer Plot instantly reacts to changes in all the colorwells (background, grid, etc.)

  • 3D Light Positioning System
Turn on the Manual Rotation button (to stop the surface from rotating Turn on the Position Light Source button, and your background changes to black. Grids disappear. You see only your surface plot, and a small yellow sphere which shows the relative location of your light source. Adjust the position of the light source, to see your surface illuminated from a different angle.

  • All the standard plot types including Line, Mesh, Scatter, Mutli-Line Plots, and transparent Area Plots. With version 1.0.6, we've added vector and offset vector plots.

  • Multiple plots on a single chart

  • Background Color Specification

  • Orthographic projections simplify taking measurements.
(ie: closer objects are do not appear larger than objects further away, following graphing techniques used in cartesian coordinate spaces).

  • Transpose Your Data - swap rows for columns when importing your data.

  • Set your chart title, and change your axis labels for X, Y, and Z

The 3D Data Visualizer Pro may be purchased for only $39.00 and works with Mac OS X version 10.4 and above.
