Optunis is pleased to announce the release of our 3D Data Visualizer Pro 1.0 : a tool used by scientists, engineers, and mathematicians to visualize table-based data. Choose your input data file (human readable ASCII text data), delimiter types, and select from a variety of 3D plots styles.

The 3D Data Visualizer Pro provides several enhancements and improvments over the free 3D Data Visualizer including support for additional plots, background color specifications, export to TIFF and PDF, undo, and the ability to save and restore sessions.

Lighting for surface plots may be adusted using a new 3D Light Positioning System. Turn on the Manual Rotation button (to stop the surface from rotating). Turn on the Position Light Source button, and your background changes to black. Grids disappear. You see only your surface plot, illuminated by a small yellow sphere (which shows the relative location of your light source). Adjust the position of the light source, to instantly see your surface illuminated from a different angle.

All projections from the 3D world to the 2D screen are orthographic (i.e., closer objects do not appear larger than similar sized objects further away), to simplify taking measurements.

A single user license for the 3D Data Visualizer Pro is available for $29. The 3D Data Visualizer is compatible with Mac OS X version 10.4 and above. Additional information is available at http://www.optunis.com/data_visualizer/data_visualizer_3d.html

The 3D Data Visualizer continues to be free, and has been updated to version 1.0.3. The free 3D Data Visualizer include the addition of a 3D Light Positioning System.
